Whether for a vacation weekend or just a day's get away, beaches are a popular summer spot. This is especially true for singles and the younger crowds. On any given day, beaches will be swamped with swimmers, surfers, volleyball players, in-line skaters and the like. Cahoon Hollow Beach in Massachusetts
Located on Cape Cod, this beach is a good choice for singles. It is not very busy or crowded but offers all of the amenities of a large beach. In addition to standard water activities such as surfing, volleyball, and sand fun, there is also a restaurant and music club on site. This beach and its restaurants and bars have received numerous local awards. One special award is that of "Best Bar on Cape Cod" (by Boston Magazine).
Cape May Beaches in New Jersey
Visit Cape May on the shores of Delaware Bay. With white sandy beaches, public bath houses and many beach hotels, Cape May is a popular vacation destination for singles. One beach frequented by singles is that of the Decatur Street Beach. What makes it so popular to singles is its numerous bars, nightclubs, restaurants and nearby shops. Activities to be enjoyed on Decatur Street Beach include fishing, swimming, boating and surfing.
Oval Beach in Michigan
Saugatuck is a small, quaint and upscale Lake Michigan beach town. Vacationing in Saugatuck can be quite costly; consequently it is not frequented by families. It is also known as a very artsy and liberal town. Oval Beach is extremely beautiful. In addition to being just a great place to relax, one can enjoy a number of activities on the beach such as boating, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, surfing and dune rides. There are a number of quaint inns and bed and breakfasts near Oval Beach. Some of the most popular include that of Bella Vita Spa & Suites, Best Western Plaza Hotel and the Beachway Resort.
